"Poetry is spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings".

Infact life is also an overflow of our feelings. If we give a right channel to our energy and feelings, we get the real joy and happiness in our life.

Literature, Music, Poetry and many other arts and hobbies are the ways in which we channelize our energy and feelings in a proper way.

Music especially Indian Classical Music is one of the most powerful ways to show or to change our feelings and mood.

In any type of music whether Indian or any other music of the world, the most important things are Notes or swar (स्वर) and the timing or rhythm or Taal ( ताल ) . These two major things constitute every type of music in this world no matter it is Indian Classical, Western Classical, Pop, Jazz, thumri, dadra or any other among hundreds.

In Indian Classical Music, Different combinations of notes (स्वर) constitutes different Ragas which signifies different feelings and mood and timings and infact this is where lies the definition of a Raga. We will discuss this more in our tutorials.

So Indian Classical Music involves Ragas (Combination of notes or swars) and Taals (The Time and tempo combines to give a rhythm or taal).We talked a bit about Raaga. Now let us come to taal,a taal is identified or known by the number of counts (matras) ,tempo(the speed) and timing. We will discuss all this in brief and for convenience we are also starting the forum for doubts and discussions.

Last but the most important thing, Indian Classical Music teaches us the art of enjoying life, it enlightens a path to joy and happiness. Infact Indian Classical Music can cure many illness and diseases by its positive vibrations. Meditation by Music is also an art in itself. For all these discussions we will separately be devoting a section of our forum.
